This bodystyle was built in 1971-72.
Plymouth Road Runner discontinued from 1971 production of convertible bodystyles.1972 Road Runner got a small facelift that included chrome front and rear bumpers.
Standard equipment for 72' model included large rear reflectors and lights, fuel-tank impact protection, lane-change turn signal, locking steering column, seat belts in all seating positions (that included shoulder belts in front seats), large cushioned sun visors, side marker lights, hazard warning light system, electric windshield wipers, head restraints in front, left outside rearview mirror.
Optional equipment: ralley wheels, power windows, inside hood release, racing mirrors, air conditioning, power front disc brakes, sun roof, racing stripes and racing steering wheel.
Also there were many different engines available: 340ci; 400ci; 440ci; 440ci+6 (3x2 barrel carburetors).
Car price at the dealership:
Only five 440ci+6 engines were ever made.It was discontinued because it did not fit in that times carbon regulations.
